How to Run a Census “Dry Run”

No data was found

Minimize stress on official data submission deadlines by diagnosing information gaps ahead of time.

NAVIGATION PATHWAY
School > Data > Census > Select Census Term

  1. Generate a Dry Run: Open the relevant census item (e.g., Autumn Census) and click the primary action
    button labeled Generate Dry Run.
  2. Wait for Background Processing: Arbor compiles the entire school dataset in the background. Refresh
your page after a couple of minutes to view the summary.
  3. Isolate Errors and Queries: Review the results panel. Red labels indicate strict Errors (must be fixed),
while Orange labels indicate Queries (must be verified).
  4. Batch Resolve Issues: Click directly on any specific error code line. Arbor will navigate straight to the
    exact profile field needing correction.
  5. Recalculate & Re-test: Once adjustments are completed, head back to the main Census screen and
click Recalculate Census to verify your errors clear out.

Support Tip: Aim to execute your first mock dry run at least two weeks before Census Day to leave ample time for
clearing tricky workforce or context queries.
